8mm (5/16") Auto Transmission Cooler Hose

8mm (5/16") auto transmission cooler hose (RTH08) is the small bore in the range, used on auxiliary cooler returns and smaller boxes where the steel line steps down. The tube is black nitrile so gearbox oil at temperature does not swell it, two spiral synthetic cords carry the 250 psi rating, and the black Hypalon cover takes the heat and UV of an engine bay. Sold cut from 1m or on a 15.2m spool.

Compatibility and fitting

• Push over an 8mm steel cooler line or hose tail and clamp with a small worm drive clamp from the clamp range
• Larger boxes and coolers take the 10mm and 12mm sizes in the transmission cooler hose range
• Not a fuel line: for petrol and diesel use the automotive fuel hose range
• More engine bay hose, including heater and radiator overflow, is in the automotive hose range

Is 8mm measured inside or outside?

Inside. Transmission hose is listed by bore, so 8mm hose slips over an 8mm outside diameter steel cooler line. Measure the tube you are joining across its outside, not its bore, or you will order one size small.
