40mm Layflat Hose Blue

LF040B is the 40 mm bore in the blue layflat range, a flat PVC delivery hose that rounds out under pump pressure and packs down small when the run is finished. Outside diameter is 44 mm and the wall is rated 75 psi (5.2 bar) at 20°C. Fit it to the pump outlet. A layflat hose has no helix to hold the bore open, so on a suction port it pulls shut and the pump starves.

What fittings suit 40 mm layflat hose?

A 40 mm hose tail or camlock shank pushed into the bore and secured with two clamps. Layflat is thin walled, so spread the clamps rather than crushing the hose under one.

Is layflat hose the same thing as suction hose?

No, and swapping them is the usual ordering mistake. Layflat carries water away from a pump. Suction hose has a rigid helix moulded in and feeds water to it.
