50mm Black Rubber Air intake Ducting

50 mm black rubber ducting is a small-bore extraction and intake size, used on mobile plant, compressor breathing and the short flexible tail between a machine and a fixed duct. Rubber gives it something PVC does not: it takes abrasion from sawdust and chip without wearing through at the first bend, and it holds up to UV where the run sits outside. Rated for dust, chip and non combustible fume only.

Compatibility and fitting

• 50 mm is the bore, so it goes over a 50 mm spigot or stub
• Clamp over the corrugation with a worm drive band from the Tridon clamp range and let the band sit in a valley, not on a crest
• For a transparent wall, compare polyurethane ducting
• Vacuum and workshop cleaning runs suit Plastiflex vac hose

Can it be used outdoors?

Yes. UV resistance is one of the reasons this ducting is specified over a plastic alternative, so a run that sits in the sun between a machine and a collector will not go brittle on the top surface first.

Why rubber instead of PVC at this size?

Small bores move material fast, and fast material scours the outside of every bend. Rubber wears far more slowly than PVC in that spot, which is usually where a duct opens up.
