Description

75 mm starts the mid-bore band and it is the common workshop drop: the flexible length from a fixed duct down to a docking saw, thicknesser or sander. Sawdust and chip at this bore move fast enough to scour a plastic duct through at the first bend, which is the case for a black synthetic rubber wall on a wire helix. The supplier rates it for wood chips, sawdust, dust, air intake and non combustible fume extraction.

Key features

  • 75 mm bore
  • Black synthetic rubber over a wire helix
  • Corrugated exterior, flexible enough to route round a machine
  • Temperature -10°C to 125°C
  • Abrasion resistant to chip and sawdust, UV resistant
  • DRFH075, cut 1 m to 9 m or a 10 m coil

Applications

  • Workshop drops to docking saws and thicknessers
  • Sander and router table extraction
  • Dust extractor inlet hoses
  • Chip transfer on woodworking machinery
  • Air intake ducting on plant

Compatibility and fitting

  • The bore is 75 mm, so it goes over a 75 mm machine spigot
  • Use a worm drive clamp seated in a corrugation valley — see the clamp range
  • Where you want to spot a blockage without pulling the duct off, polyurethane ducting is the clear-wall option
  • Light-duty air and fume runs suit grey Plastiflex ducting

Where does a dust duct usually wear out?

On the outside of the first bend after the machine, where the chip is thrown against the wall. Rubber lasts far longer there than PVC, and it is worth checking that spot rather than the straight sections.

What length should I order for a drop?

Measure the run and add enough to keep a gentle curve at each end. A duct pulled dead straight into a spigot puts load on the clamp every time the machine is moved.

Mid and large bores are listed in black rubber air intake ducting.
