Choosing the right steam hose
- Construction: steel wire for fixed and heavy service, or fabric reinforced steam hose where flexibility and weight matter more.
- Rating: check the working pressure and temperature on the product page against the steam supply. Never assume a figure from another hose.
- Size: order on inside diameter so the hose seats correctly on the coupling shank.
- Fittings: bolted or interlocking couplings only, fitted so the hose cannot creep off under heat.
- Inspection: replace any hose with a cracked or blistered cover, or with wire showing through.
